Welcome to PrepBuddy! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our comprehensive edtech platform including Courses, Assessments, Jobs, and Community modules. By accessing or using PrepBuddy, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Account Registration & Security

1.1 Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use PrepBuddy
• Users under 18 require parental consent
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• One account per individual - multiple accounts are prohibited

1.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account use
• We reserve the right to disable accounts violating these terms

2. Platform Modules & Services

2.1 Courses Module

• Course access is granted for personal, non-commercial use only
• Course materials are licensed, not sold - no transfer of ownership
• Completion certificates are issued based on meeting course requirements
• We reserve the right to update course content without prior notice

2.2 Assessment Module

• Assessment results are for educational and guidance purposes
• Proctored assessments require compliance with monitoring rules
• Cheating or misconduct may result in assessment invalidation
• Assessment patterns and questions are proprietary intellectual property

2.3 Jobs Module

• We facilitate job matching but don't guarantee employment
• Job applications and resumes are shared with employers at your discretion
• Employers are responsible for their hiring processes and decisions
• Misrepresentation in job applications may lead to account suspension

2.4 Community Module

• Respectful and professional conduct is required in all community interactions
• User-generated content must comply with community guidelines
• We may moderate or remove content that violates our policies
• Mentorship relationships are user-managed; we facilitate connections only

3. Payments, Refunds & Subscription

3.1 Pricing and Payments

• All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified
• Payment must be completed before accessing premium content
• We use secure third-party payment processors
• You're responsible for any taxes associated with purchases

3.2 Refund Policy

• Course refunds available within 14 days of purchase if under 25% completed
• No refunds for completed courses or assessment attempts
• Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of billing cycle
• Refund requests must be submitted through official channels

3.3 Subscription Terms

• Automatic renewal unless cancelled before billing date
• Price changes communicated 30 days in advance
• Free trials convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled

4. Intellectual Property Rights

• All platform content, logos, and software are owned by PrepBuddy
• Course materials are protected by copyright laws
• Limited license granted for personal educational use only
• No commercial use, redistribution, or modification allowed

4.2 User Content

• You retain ownership of content you create and share
• You grant us license to display and distribute your public content
• We may use anonymized data for platform improvement
• You're responsible for ensuring you have rights to shared content

5. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities

5.1 Acceptable Use

• Use platform for intended educational and career purposes
• Respect intellectual property rights of others
• Maintain accurate and truthful profile information
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

5.2 Prohibited Activities

• Cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty
• Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior
• Spamming, phishing, or unauthorized commercial activities
• Reverse engineering, hacking, or platform modification
• Sharing account credentials or unauthorized access
• Misrepresentation of qualifications or identity

6. Account Termination & Suspension

6.1 User-Initiated Termination

• You may delete your account at any time
• Account deletion removes personal data within 30 days
• Some data may be retained for legal compliance

6.2 Platform-Initiated Termination

• We may suspend or terminate accounts for terms violations
• Serious violations may result in immediate termination
• We reserve right to refuse service to anyone

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

7.1 Service Disclaimer

• Platform provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• Course completion doesn't guarantee employment or certification
• We're not responsible for third-party content or services

7.2 Limitation of Liability

• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Maximum liability limited to amount paid for services in past 6 months
• Not liable for employer decisions or job market conditions
• Not responsible for user-generated content accuracy

8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

8.2 Dispute Resolution

• Informal negotiation required before formal proceedings
• Binding arbitration for disputes not resolved informally
• Arbitration conducted in San Francisco, California
• Class actions and jury trials waived
